Tiki Taco: Tropical Fusion Fare at a New DC Eatery

When a longtime resident of Hawaii relocated to DC, even the huge roster of eclectic eateries in the city couldn’t make him forget about the fresh, tropical cuisine he’d left behind. So, he decided to bring that cuisine to DC and opened Tiki Taco about two months ago in Dupont Circle.

Tiki Taco’s kitchen team seamlessly weaves together the flavors of Hawaii and the traditional cuisine of Mexico in their tropical tacos. Order yours stuffed with jerk chicken, mango salsa, savoy cabbage, and cilantro-key lime crema or the Kailua pork with pineapple salsa and watercress. Customers may also dig into poke bowls loaded with rare ahi tuna or salmon and different combinations of ingredients. The Tiki Style complements the seafood with Maui sweet onions, pineapple salsa, lime juice, and cilantro. Salads, tropical wings, and creative snacks round out the menu at Tiki Taco.
