Tucked away in an alley, La Colombe’s D.C. cafe is everything you’d expect from a hip and trendy coffeehouse located in a converted horse stable: The walls are exposed brick, natural light floods the space, and exposed metal ductwork and sleek pendant lighting are suspended from the ceiling.
As for the coffee, regulars attest that it’s some of the best you’ll sip anywhere near Hodge on 7th. From espressos and lattes to Americanos and pour-overs, coffee here relies on La Colombe’s signature coffee bean blends, all of which are hand-selected by brand founder Todd Carmichael. Don’t skip a fresh pastry to go along with your cappuccino; the fresh almond croissants are particularly well-liked here.
