Screen on the Green: The Perfect Way to Spend A Summer Evening Near Hodge on 7th

Grab a blanket and a picnic dinner and head on over to DC’s National Mall on any Monday night through August 11 and you’ll be treated to a DC summer tradition like no other. As the stars come out in the sky, the stars will be onscreen with classics shown starting between 8:30 pm and 9 pm. People tend to get there at about 5 pm to claim their spots. Movies will run as scheduled except in extreme weather. There will be no rain dates.

July 21: The Karate Kid (1984, PG) starring Pat Morita and Ralph Macchio.

July 28: Lover Come Back (1961, no rating) starring Doris Day, Rock Hudson and Tony Randall.

August 4: Key Largo (1948, no rating) starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall and Edward G. Robinson.

August 11: A Soldier’s Story (1984, PG) starring Denzel Washington and Howard Rollins, Jr.
