Uprising Muffin Company in Shaw is one of the tastiest places in the DC area to chow down on house-made gourmet muffins. For breakfast, you’ll find all the standard freshly-baked favorites, like blueberry, banana walnut, and lemon poppy seed. If you’re looking for something more filling, you’ll also find some unique savory muffins. Try a muffin studded with bacon, scrambled eggs, and cheddar for a novel version of the classic breakfast sandwich (or make it spicy, by adding onions and Monterey Jack to the mix).

Muffins of all sorts are the main draw at Uprising Muffin Company, but they’re certainly not the only menu items available here.
