Expect a Beachy Throwback Vibe at The Boardwalk DC

When the Iron Horse Tap Room closed last fall, owners Curt Large and Geoff Dawson wasted little time coming up with a new and exciting concept to the fill the space. The result is The Boardwalk, an homage to classic beach town culture and carnival midways. It’s a bar with throwback arcade games, summery food specials, and classic American beers and cocktails that will instantly remind you of a day at the beach. Shaw restaurateur Ryan Seelbach joined the team as a new managing partner, and has brought with him some of the things that have made Takoda and Cortez big successes. The space has been completely renovated to include a surf shack-style upstairs VIP area and a boardwalk-style downstairs bar.

The happy hour specials are tough to beat, including a $6 "happy meal" special including a High Life pony, shot of whiskey, and a bowl of the house popcorn. Other specials include $5 rail drinks and $4 hot dogs.
