After selling homemade pasta and sauce at Union Square Market, Al Volo Osteria‘s new restaurant is off to a great start with tons of great reviews already. It’s open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m., and seating is on a first-come first-serve basis, so get there early unless you don’t mind a bit of a wait.

The menu changes quite frequently, with a true emphasis on fresh ingredients based on seasonality. The items featured thus far include ravioli di burrata, short rib risotto and deck leg confit. House wine is available for the outstanding price of only $29 a bottle, and it is sure to complement your meal. Once you fall in love with the food, ask the friendly staff about upcoming cooking classes so you can learn to make the traditional Italian dishes at home. Al Volo Osteria is already becoming a neighborhood favorite, so make your way there while it’s still a bit of a hidden gem. It won’t stay hidden for long!
